The inception of IMT-G Connect happened in March 2009. It was the brainchild of
three promising young men – Mr Hardik Semlani, Mr Y Venkateswara Rao and Mr
B Sandeep Reddy– who envisioned a magnum opus for their institute on the web
domain. Their painstaking efforts and unwavering vision have helped build from scratch
one of the finest accomplishments in history of IMT.
Enabling this vision become a reality were staunch believers, who not only took
upon their shoulders the responsibility to take IMT-G Connect through its embryonic
stage, but in the future would continue to play pivotal roles in its metamorphosis
into one of the most user-friendly and intuitive web platforms any institute has
seen. These young men – Ankur & Srikanth – are as pivotal to the
creation of this portal as are the founders.
A special mention to the multitude of Clubs & Committees at IMT Ghaziabad: the
students already under the weight of their responsibilities have shown unprecedented
enthusiasm – more than what was thought possible – in taking up this
new task of maintaining the flow of information in the web portal & bringing
in dynamism & freshness of perspective to IMT-G Connect, in the process adding
another dimension to its myriad personality.

IMT-G Connect, for me was more than a website; it was the result of the lessons
learnt over the years, and a personification of the simple lessons taught to us
by the recession – the importance of continuous improvement, and the value
of brand-building. I was fortunate that I managed to communicate this comprehensively
to the management and the students of all the clubs and committees, and that they
took it up and worked as earnestly as anyone I could’ve hoped for. The end
result is a step forward on the path towards excellence – an interactive,
visual treatise on knowledge-sharing, brand building & value addition to the institute
that has played such an instrumental role in shaping our lives.

Working for this portal was probably the best thing that I have done for the institute
after being a part of its family a year ago. My thought of improving the networking
amongst IMTians is the key for this achievement. The task of streamlining the procedures
and automating them gave me good experience of managing portal content, processes
and the people involved. Having a technical background in portal content collaboration,
I was able to give shape to all the requirements of students, alumni, faculty etc.
I thank all the team members for supporting us in this strategic web development
project.
